The information below is frequently updated for scholarship opportunities. Please keep in mind that this is not a comprehensive list of all scholarship and student opportunities available to you. You are encouraged to research other scholarship options through a variety of resources, including scholarship search engines, colleges and universities, places of employment, and community organizations.

Philanthropic Educational Organization

P.E.O. is an international women's philanthropic organization that works to promote educational opportunities for women. We are looking for a candidate from among current Junior students (female)/Class of 2025. 

This scholarship is for $2500 and is not based on financial need. Each P.E.O. chapter can nominate one candidate per year, so you may be contacted by more than one local P.E.O. chapter.  For more information and instructions on how to apply, click here.

Metro Atlanta Kiwanis

Opportunity for graduating seniors to apply for a Metro Atlanta Kiwanis/Dr. Desiree Oliver Leadership Scholarship.

  • This year, we will award (2) scholarships: 1st Place: $1,000.00; 2nd Place: $750.00

  • The application and instructions for completing the scholarship are available here .

  • Students from high schools in the Atlanta Public School District, the Fulton County School District, and the Clayton County School District will be competing for the scholarships.

The Friends for Life Foundation, Inc. Scholarship

The Friends for Life Foundation, Inc. is offering scholarship opportunities for seniors in the class of 2024. 

Details for each scholarship are available here. Students can click on the QR codes to get details. They will be directed to the online, fillable application.

Please note that all scholarship materials, including the essay, two recommendations (if applicable), and an official high school transcript must be submitted by the May 31, 2024 deadline. 

5 Strong Scholar Foundation

Albany State, Fort Valley State and Savannah State University are offering students an opportunity to apply in partnership with the 5 Strong Scholar Foundation. This organization provides college ready prep sessions, college tours and ongoing mentorship and support for students from “matriculation to graduation".

Please go to 5strongscholars.org, to find out more about the 5 Strong Scholars program and apply.        All applicants must have at least a 3.0 HOPE GPA.  If you are not sure of your HOPE GPA, please go to gafutures.org.

University of North Georgia

The University of North Georgia offers excellent scholarship opportunities for those interested in military service. Every year, 42 Georgia high school seniors are offered full scholarships to attend the University of North Georgia and participate in the Corps of Cadets—the Boar’s Head Brigade. 
We are extremely interested in college-bound Georgia-resident students who might be considering military programs in college.  
The scholarship application is open now for seniors. Detailed information and application instructions are at ung.edu/cadet/scholarships.

HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship - Find information on the HOPE GPA, eligibility, and how to apply.

 

Scholarship Tips:

  • Focus on one or two scholarship websites/apps to make the process more manageable. Naviance, Gafutures.org, Scholly.com and Scholaroo.com are great options to search for scholarships geared toward your interests.

  • Remember that many colleges and universities offer merit-based scholarships during the application process. Merit scholarships may be given out automatically to students who meet a specific GPA and test score criteria or awarded through a formal application process.

  • Look at local scholarships offered through civic organizations or local businesses.
